History

Puzzlepie was born in the 1970s in Munich, Germany, founded by Stefan Karpati at the forefront of an emerging industry. Initially catering to cultural events like concerts, theatre performances, and festivals, the company quickly established itself as a pioneer in its field.

Since 1990, Puzzlepie has been a stalwart supplier for Munich’s renowned Tollwood” Festival in Munich, drawing over 1 million guests annually. In 2010, Benedikt Karpati, ushering in the second generation, steered Puzzlepie towards a new horizon—shifting from cultural to industrial events. Today, Puzzlepie stands as a leading provider in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) for high-profile industrial events. Over 80% of their portfolio caters to international corporations and 5‑star hotels. Through innovation and dedication, Puzzlepie continues to redefine excellence in event solutions, bridging cultures and industries across continents.

To ensure a seamless transition, Puzzlepie deployed experienced German event technicians to key roles, facilitating rapid knowledge transfer to local staff. Beyond live events, Puzzlepie’s influence extended into the realm of sound studios, facilitating international productions spanning classical, contemporary, and modern entertainment genres.

Vision

Our vision at Puzzlepie Zambia is to transform the event industry landscape by elevating standards and capabilities across Zambia.

With a focus on the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector, we aim to introduce European-quality service and technical expertise that meet the highest global standards.

Zambia, with its exceptional safety records, robust infrastructure, and strategic location, is poised as a hub for top-tier events in Southern Africa. We envision leveraging these strengths to establish Lusaka as a beacon of excellence in event hosting, with plans to extend our reach nationwide in the coming years.

Our commitment is evident through strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, the introduction of state-of-the-art technical equipment, and the ongoing training of local talent. By fostering sustainable growth and setting new benchmarks in event management, Puzzlepie Zambia strives to unlock Zambia’s untapped potential and position it prominently on the global MICE map.

Mission

At Puzzlepie Zambia, we embrace the rich cultural heritage of our German roots while celebrating the vibrancy of Zambian diversity.

Our mission is built upon a human-centric approach, where people – both customers and employees – are at the heart of everything we do. This philosophy not only guides our business goals but also forms the bedrock of our operations, fostering a thriving environment where both our team and clients flourish.

We believe that sustainable success stems from prioritising our people – with a steadfast commitment to “Customer First,” we tailor our services to exceed expectations, understanding that our customers’ satisfaction is paramount to our longevity and growth. By listening attentively and adapting swiftly, we ensure our solutions align seamlessly with their needs.

Equally important is our belief in “Employee First.” We empower our team with the resources, training, and support they need to excel. Recognising that exceptional service delivery hinges on a well-supported and motivated workforce, we invest in our team’s well-being and professional development.

Through this integrated approach, Puzzlepie Zambia not only aims to elevate the standards of event management in Zambia but also to forge meaningful connections that bridge cultures and create lasting impact in the local event scene. Together, we strive to set new benchmarks, enrich experiences, and empower our community to thrive.

Commitments

At Puzzlepie Zambia, we are committed to sustainable practices that drive
positive impact across our operations:

Social Sustainability:

We ensure our employees receive salaries above the minimum wage, comprehensive health coverage, and enjoy a healthy work-life balance through indefinite employment contracts. Adhering to both Zambian labour laws and German standards, we prioritize occupational safety and equality for all nationalities, genders, religions, and cultures. Diversity is celebrated with unwavering tolerance and inclusion.

Environmental Sustainability:

Over the next three years, we are implementing measures to reduce our carbon footprint. This includes minimizing waste through improved recycling practices and transitioning to energy-efficient LED lighting. Strategic clustering of operations and decentralized warehouses will reduce travel distances and emissions. Where extended deliveries are necessary, costs incurred will be directed towards local environmental initiatives. Our aim is for our branches to generate more renewable energy than they consume, both onsite and at event venues.

Economic Sustainability:

We are dedicated to maximizing local benefits from our operations. By sourcing resources locally and utilizing Zambian expertise for services and production, we contribute directly to the country’s economic growth. Through ongoing training and education, we empower our team to adopt sustainable practices and contribute to climate protection efforts. Our commitment to transparency includes regular measurement and reporting of our ecological footprint.

Through these tangible commitments, Puzzlepie Zambia strives to lead by example in fostering a sustainable future for our community and environment.
