L‑ACOUSTICS X12 – Ultra-compact coaxial loudspeaker

The X‑12 is a com­pact mul­ti-pur­pose loud­speak­er with coax­i­al tech­nol­o­gy that is ide­al for sound rein­force­ment over short dis­tances. It con­sists of a pres­sure cham­ber dri­ver with a 3‑inch cone, coax­i­al­ly mount­ed on a 12-inch woofer and housed in a bass reflex enclo­sure.

The reflex vents with lam­i­nar air­flow (L‑Vents) reduce tur­bu­lence and noise at high vol­umes and increase effi­cien­cy in the low fre­quen­cy range. The X12 oper­ates in the fre­quen­cy range from 59 Hz to 20 kHz. The trans­duc­ers are arranged coax­i­al­ly and their ellip­soidal dis­per­sion pat­tern enables a sound dis­tri­b­u­tion of 90 degrees × 60 degrees with uni­form sound behav­ior with­out side lobes over the entire fre­quen­cy range. A built-in pas­sive crossover uses cus­tomized fil­ters. In addi­tion, the L‑Drive para­me­ters of the L‑Acoustics con­troller pow­er ampli­fiers ensure that the speak­ers are lin­earized and protected.
